Flipington is bringing you something different! He's only 16, from the Isle of Wight and has some brilliant lyrics...
Read on for some awesome-ness...

How is 2009 going so far?
2009's going good, hadn't really put myself out there before this year, so it's pretty awesome.

How did you first start spoken word poetry?
I started through listening to a lot of hip-hop and trying to rap (I kinda failed). I also listen (and listened) to Dan le sac vs. Scroobius pip, and that led me into the spoken word scene, Scroobius pip, Berkavitch and others, and I thought "Why not?!"

What are your influences?
Well I have a lot of influence from Scroobius Pip, Berkavitch and PolarBear, then The Pharcyde, The Streets, De la Soul, El-P, MC Frontalot, Public Enemy, Super Dragon X, Immortal Technique and Producers with Computers. Then stuff like Black Flag, Grinderman and Wheezer. There's a lot, I like loads of music, and everything I listen to influences me in some way. That's just a few. I'm also influenced by things that have happened to me, politics and things I've heard and read.

Can you describe your poetry in three words?
Talking rubbish quickly.

Where would you most like to do a gig?
Well I'd love to do something at poetry café or the spoken word tent at Camp Bestival.

Are you looking forward to The Bestival?

So much, every time I think that I'm performing there I feel like I'm on a roller-coaster, first I'm all like "YAY!" then I realize how scared I am. Also going to be awesome to see some of the amazing acts that are performing.

Will we see a shiny EP from you in the future?
Maybe, if I get some decent recordings done and stuff, I mean, I want to release something, but I don't want to make people pay, if I make one it'll probably be digital and free.

If New Reviews locked you in a room with Fred Durst from Limp Bizkit would you...
A) Teach him your style
B) Gag him
C) Bang on the door till we felt mean and let you out...
D) See if he was as horrible as everyone makes out and chat to him!

I pick D, though first I would be like "I used to play as you on that WWE game. You were mad good." I'm not a fan of Limp Bizkit, but hey, everyone deserves a chance huh...

Who would you love to support you at a gig? (You can have aaaaaanyone!)
Wow, someone to support me?! That's pretty rich. If it ever came to that I think I'd be stuck for choice. Probably PolarBear, but lets face it, that's never going to happen, and I would rather be supporting him.

What do you think of Myspace? Have you been sucked into Twitter?
Myspace is good to get yourself out there and stuff, but because of Facebook, the user base is degenerating. I also don't like the fact people are friends to bands on it, it leads to bands being like "Need more friends" and just adding loads of people, whereas on Facebook people choose to become a fan, and all is well. I do tweet, not compulsively, but I have it for my phone and I quite like it, it's a good site.

Anything you would like to add?
If you've read this up until now, wow, you're dedicated, if you fancy checking me out on most sites I'm AverseBliss, and if you want to get me on Myspace it's www.myspace.com/theowlandthepussycatiow(shameless self promotion...)

There is the link me dears! So go have a look, and don't forget to catch him at The Bestival!
