TRACE
Where do I begin?...
Trace is a funky electronic project David Impey, a composer and producer with a track record including live sessions on BBC Radio Stations.
His first album "Under Cover" is a collection of three cover versions of some pretty established tracks. The track which has gained attention is 'Tubular Bells - Part 1' We have kindly put the video up for you, and can be viewed here, so be sure to check it out!
Trace is a great example of minimalism, and whilst it seems simplistic and fascinating; it is very much a mixture of funk, rock techno and even psychedelia. "Under Cover" will be available from the 14th of June under the label Crash Records. If you want to get your hands on this musical art, then keep an eye out for it on iTunes and all major download sites!
"Trace is chiefly oriented towards the chill-out end of the electronic spectrum. The tracks are blends of texture, soundscape and ethnicity taking inspiration from a number of different musical genres. Two new Trace projects are currently in the pipeline; ‘Fun’ – a dance-oriented album which becomes progressively darker and more ethereal and ‘Five Lines’ – a minimalist album in which each track has no more than five overdubs. The concept is inspired by the staves of a music manuscript. Another Trace project is already produced and will be available as a download before the end of 2010, entitled ‘Music for Yoga’".
